Goodstone Living  - Dockside, Edinburgh

Pentland Communications assisted Goodstone Living in securing a unanimous approval for their planning application to add four full storeys and significant landscaping, sustainability and community benefits to their build to rent project in Leith, Edinburgh.  The new build to rent neighbourhood on Leith’s Albert Docks will deliver 373 new sustainable rental homes, including family and affordable housing across four apartment blocks and provide 1.3 acres or new public realm space. 

This impressive planning outcome was achieved in a little over six months. Throughout the process, Pentland managed relationships with key stakeholders including politicians, Head of Planning and the Council leader which ultimately hugely assisted in the positive decision obtained.

Persimmon Homes, Peebles 

Persimmon Homes submitted a planning application to Scottish Borders Council for 71 homes in Peebles.

Due to strong objections from local interest and community groups, Pentland Communications was appointed to manage political and community engagement. 

Pentland identified and mobilised local supporters, particularly those struggling with rent and first-time buyers, to advocate for the development.  Pentland's strategy led to 31 individuals writing personalized letters of support, which were submitted to the council. This effective engagement resulted in the planning committee unanimously approving the application.

Taylor Wimpey - Cardross 

Pentland is supporting Taylor Wimpey with their planning application for new homes in Cardross by managing stakeholder relationships, engaging with political figures, and providing support during community consultations.

Pentland have coordinated with local ward councillors, the Chair of the Planning Committee, and the Community Council to ensure a comprehensive engagement strategy. 

Pentland also helped organise the public consultation event undertaken prior to the submission of the application.   


Dunelm Mill, North Lanarkshire 

Pentland Communications assisted their client, Dunelm Mill, to receive unanimous approval in North Lanarkshire for an extension to their mezzanine at the Birkinshaw Trading Estate. 

Dunelm has been operating in North Lanarkshire for over 20 years and will now look to create additional jobs and invest in the store to bolster their customer offer.

EnBW  

Pentland Communications was a key part of the team that facilitated EnBW host the Scottish Labour Party including Anas Sarwar and Sarah Boyack in Stuttgart for a two day event to discuss opportunities for joint working and investment. 

EnBW welcomed a delegation of Scottish and UK parliamentarians to share insights from Germanys journey towards energy transition.  Anas Sarwar, Leader of the Scottish Labour Party, wrote about his trip and his vision for Scotland as a world leader in clean energy. On EnBW he had this to say:  "Last month, I had the privilege of travelling to Stuttgart to meet with EnBW – a clean technology company almost entirely owned by the state of Baden-Württemberg. The story of EnBW is not just a story of business success but one of social and environmental success, too.
